The Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association is organized as a section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The purpose of the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association is to bring together the highest-ranking officer from each eligible metropolitan fire department to share information and experiences and to discuss issues of common interest.
According to the Metropolitan Association of Fire Chiefs bylaws, eligible members must be:
The highest-ranking fire officer of a fire department.
Leading a fire department with a minimum staffed strength of 350 fully paid career firefighters.
A current member of both IAFC and NFPA.
You must meet all these requirements to be a member. If you meet these requirements, we invite you to join the IAFC/ NFPA Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association. Please complete this application and submit it for approval. If applicable, your dues will be prorated for the first year. After the first year, your Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association dues renewal will be included on your IAFC dues renewal invoice.
