World Fire Congress (WFC) – Secretariat Leadership & Global Coordination
Following the successful 2024 World Fire Congress in Washington, D.C., Metro, in partnership with NFPA and IAFC, now leads the WFC Secretariat. The 2026 World Fire Congress will be held on September 8–9, 2026, in London, United Kingdom, and will be hosted by the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC).
- Metro’s 2026 WFC initiatives include:
- Formalization of WFC governance and Executive Steering Committee structure
- Development of host-nation congress selection protocols (2028 UAE; 2030 TBD)
- Structuring of a World Fire Congress Hosting Protocol
- Formulation of a multi-tiered sponsorship prospectus
- Expansion of global delegate representation by continent
